I'm not sure why I did, but I left the factory springs in. I can't say which one is better, however I almost never have extraction problems with the factory springs. I usually start getting extraction problems after a brick or two or three of shooting depending on the quality of the ammo. Give it a good tear down and clean and I'm good to go again. I picked up a dental pick from my hygenist that makes taking the extractor in and out for cleaning a breeze.
Is it best to remove the extractor, spring and plunger during each teardown and cleaning. I'm embarrassed to bring this up , but now after approx 750 rounds and what I thought was a good cleaning job (but not removing the extractor), I'm getting extraction problems again!!
