Proper dry fire
Proper dry fire
How?
Generally with no live ammo.
Haha. Touché. I was guided by RElliott so I think I am doing it right.![]()
Yeah, Rob will point you in the right direction.
Shoot your sights, shoot your own game.
Also realize the speed a good Open shooter is running will be faster than an iron sighted production gun.
I get a kick out of watching guys crash after they watch someone rock a stage and think, "I can do that too". its like hearing a redneck say hey watch this

Haha. When we walked in he said don't do what I do. Oh well, I will definitely learn from this.
It's not like I didn't know I couldn't do it. I am a stupid a$$!!! lol
Any drill you can do in live fire can be done dry. You can also set up little stages if you want, though personally I prefer measurable drills. A great deal of dry fire practice has NOTHING at all to do with the gun; it's more about movement. So you can work on everything that happens between the shots. The key is to focus on (correct) technique and work with a timer to nibble your par times down in small increments, without the distraction of recoil, blast and noise. And Steve Anderson's tome, noted below, is a great recourse. Can anyone recommend a good on-line primer/tips to read-up on proper dry fire technique?
