Hi, looking for some input--a friend is trying to value a couple of pistols for an estate and both are models I am not familiar with.

Colt python .357, 6" high polish blue, 95% condition--has been fired but very little--turn ring on cylinder has not broken through the blue. Is certainly in collectable condition--is there a market for it and what is a reasonable value.

Glock Model 34, 9mm. new, unfired, no box, extra mag.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks, 44Bore

For the Python - it also depends when it was made. Earlier Pythons bring more than the later ones.

I'd say locgo is close - I have paid 7-9 hundred for Pythons from the 70's but considered them deals.

Colt Pythons can go as high as 2500$ (and that, in the U.S.), even if they are shot a lot, their value keeps climbing and climbing.
I remember someone on THR wanted to get a factory bluing job for his Python, turns out the gun shop owner who was supposed to ship it "lost" the gun, 6 months and a lot of court stuff later, he got 2500$ for his Python, it wasn't new, it wan't in excellent condition, but Pythons are collecatble pieces and their value keeps climbing.

I sold a BRSTS Python a few years ago for $1400 with a Colt rubber grip and a second Colt wood grip, box and papers, it was close to like new condition, I would say 95%-97%. A blue one would bring $1100 -$1200 in the condition you described. A brushed stainless will sell for $1200-$1300 in 95%+ condition.

In the US they sell for close to twice those prices...
