I have a chap interested in obtaining these rifles (and pistol) from me.
I thought I'd come to you for your insights to what today's market holds for these rifles.

What do you think?
The 1950 CNo4Mk1* is Longbranch 1950 - parked finish. VG+ condition with a mint bore. Minor storage marks otherwise I'd say she was mint. All matching numbers. I have the original CMk3 site in stores.

1943 Colt USGI 1911A1
Cannot verify the following at this time: Captured by German soldier from US Soldier post June 15th 1944 (D-Day). The German soldier had inscribed his name, unit, year and rank on frame. Liberated by a Canadian Soldier later in Holland who returned home with it after the war. He kept it until his death 12 years ago. His widow sold this pistol to the chap I aquired it from.

Condition: VG+ Small hint of frost in bore (just visible). Everything is as tight as a milspec 1911A1 should be. Cycles ammunition reliably. Nice greenish patina to the parkerizing (80%).

1944 (used by CFC as the serial no.)

I think $2400, + or -, for all three would be a fair value. Both rifles are beautiful examples of their model and the pistol is a rarity. Others mileage will vary

I do have doubts about the 1911 though. Isn't Gutermann a Jewish name? And Oberleutnant should be shortened to Olt not Ober Lt.

i usualy see ww2 1911s go for about the $1200 mark so with this ones history (if it can be confermed will be worth more) id pay $1500 for it and not batt an eye

- Colt 1911A1 in Canada $1200.00 ( more in the USA). I had not notice the damage to US markings, because of this I must lower the price to $800.00 (just a shooter grade now in my opinion).

P.S. German markings without documentation does not really add to value, may even hurt value to a US Military Arms collector.

Well I've been getting some interesting feedback.

Some say between $1500 and $1600 for the No7 + complete kit, some say as low as $600. I think $1250 is probably about right.

I honestly do not understand why so many of us believe that an excellent example of the No7Mk1 with transit case is $600 in value when I see non-matching typical ordinary No4's that need some serious loving sell for the same amount.

No7Mk1 trainers are being smelted down into steel ingots by the Cdn Gov't as we speak! There is a significant shortage of these rifles now. Those that has escaped the Cdn gulag as it were are very few indeed. Surely most of you can appreciate the collectibility of these rifles by now? How often do you see them in complete fashion for sale Globally? Very rarely!

I think these are the closest, but if the LB 1950 is near mint it should be higher, say $600+ depending how minty.

The guys are a bit heavy on the 1911A1 in my opinion but I can tell you that the last two C7's I saw for sale in this condition went for around the $1,500.00 mark. These are retail prices at the top of the market before the recession set in and it usually takes some work getting this much. To a friend who is nearby and will save the work and the shipping you could ask $2,500.00 for the lot and see what he says. Dave

Buy the Pistol (ie:1911A1) and not the story.
It seems real odd that the SN and Property of US Govt would be milled off???? If you know what I mean.
Having said that, and absolutely no proof of the story, it's been bubba'd (for whatever reason?), and will lower the price accordingly.

Chrome Plated P08 Luger anyone???
