Butt stock appears to have been sanded and refinished. It also appears that emery paper had been used on receiver. Missing the "Saddle Ring", but rear sight is there (a bigger plus). It's not a collector but it would be a good shooter. I'd put a price of $450 to $500 on it.

At these prices ^^ and dependith upon where and how the $$'s are, it should sell easily for that.
I'd bump it up ahh bit at our show as there seems to be a pretty gooder markitt for them.
Heck, awn'ear it would be gawn tewt sweet.

I'd start it at least $750 at a gunshow [in these parts anyway]. Can always negotiate down from there.

Pluses are it's a saddle ring carbine & it has the rear ladder type site.

NAA.

Most importantly, what is the bore like? Anyone buying it is looking for a shooter. Stocks are badly sanded and also gumwood not walnut, a minus for value. Saddle ring missing also front sight is not original. In my neck of the woods it is a $500 rifle IF the bore is good.

Mike,
The front sight is very likely original as it is a Marbles 94 C front sight specially made for the 1894 carbines and could have been special ordered for the 1894 carbines of this vintage.
And yes, the wood is gumwood.

Just thought it unlikely that a standard carbine with no other special order features would have a front sight special ordered. But anything is possible.
