Value from the AR guru's

I have had this rifle since the 90's , anybody give me an idea what it is worth in today's market. My son likes the SBR rifles and was thinking of re-barreling this one. Not sure if it is rare or not and don't want to hack up a good piece.
Should I sell and buy a SBR or keep it and rebarrel.

It's a colt sporter lightweight 9mm, round count around 400 .
16" barrel
three digit serial number that is kinda unique it has the aluminum but stock
a couple of small scratches , but pretty minty overall.

Rebarrel won't hurt anything....I'm guessing he just wants a shorter 9mm barrel.....check with Questar for one. Keep the other parts so you can put it back to original.
Or better yet, get a stripped flattop upper and new barrel to swap on it....

Buy a new upper and swap them out. May need a buffer and recoil spring to aid in the swap. Leave the original parts alone and just swap uppers.

Any body know where you can get a large hole flat top upper for 9mm . I have used the conversion pins before and they suck.
But would still like to know if anybody has an idea on value

an original like that would sell for around $1600 to a colt guy.... irunguns is bringing in some new ones that are going to affect your price, as for a large hole upper just post a wtb in the ee and you will find one quick
