As I get older I am thinning the herd a little. My nephew is very interested in a 1945 Long Branch that was used in DCRA matches. It is equipped with a Parker Hale 5C sight and the middle sling swivel. It has very neatly electro penciled name of a well know Peterborough gunsmith of the 50 and 60"s with Perterboro stenciled under it. I acquired it from his son a number of years ago. I also have (found in the butt stock) the paperwork releasing it to Dominion of Canada Rifle Association on 10 Feb 48. Shipped to his Peterborough address. Rifle was released from 25 C.0.D. Montreal. Cost was $35.48. It is still in 303 Br caliber .

Rifle is in VG+ condition.

I want to come up with a more than fair price as he plans on passing it on to his son who has a great interest in target shooting with vintage military rifles.

Thanks

$1000-$1500 depending on your version of "very good"

Many of these look vg on the outside, have shiney bores but washed throats

I thought about that but I've got three kids of my own two of whom are struggling financially. I'm trying to be fair to everyone and help each as much as I can. Irregardless it will be a great deal for my nephew who tends to buy and sell guns almost weekly.

for your info.....i have one of these rifles as you describe.....they are also bedded and shoot extremely well...the sights are second to none.....should be owned by a person who will use it as it was intended........in the match......and kept.....in high regard as a bit of history
