Value of 1956 Winchester 94 30-30

Some of the metal on this Model 94 appears to have been sanded, but the wood looks okay, so what do you think this 1956 Model 94 might be worth if I was to make an offer to buy it?

It has a steel butt plate and an odd side-mounted front sling swivel.

Both the metal and the wood have been fiddled with so it is just a hunting gun.

I can't see the pic too well but I think its worth more. I'd say 300-400 dollars. They don't make them like that anymore, unfortuatly.

I'd have to agree with Doug. Plenty of nicer pre-64 Model 94s around in the $300 or so range.

Oh, thanks for the offers, but I'm going to try shooting it. I have two others that I'm not really happy with accuracy-wise.

I'd suggest you not use that sling, because of the front attachment to a fairly thin piece of wood. If the sling screw comes out, you will probably need a new forestock and that might cost you a few more cases of bingo.
