Hi guys. I am replacing my wood stock with an Archangel kit and someone has offered to buy or trade for my old wood stock. It is a nice wood stock built in 1988. Very good condition. I have no idea what a plain stock is worth. I am thinking about trading for some new parts but because I don't know the value, I don't want to ask for too much or too little. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have gotten lots of advice from the CGN community and value everyones opinions.

Thanks

These stocks show up periodically in the EE. Best bet is to have a look and compare yours to what may be available. I believe there is 1 at least on right now.

Is it birch or walnut?

How do I tell the difference?

That's walnut for sure.

The gun pictured is the Deluxe Sporter Model, and the stock would be worth considerably more than a birch (Beech Wood?) one with the barrel band.

Synthetic stock

While we are on the subject of 10/22 stocks, I have a couple of brand new synthetic stocks left over from some projects. Anyone care to give an estimate on the value of a synthetic stock (unused)?

Evilgrin I hope you don't mind my asking here. Synthetic isn't near as nice as the one you're selling but I had wondered what the value was and thought this might be the time/place to ask.

The one I have is a Walnut Stock. I have been told anywhere from $70- $100 depending on condition and grain. Mine is in excellent shape and has beautiful grain so I'm hoping I can get a fair price for it.
