trying to help a friend out regarding a firearm. He has an old winchester model 1894 that he is trying to get a price for and doesn't have a good idea what it's worth. is there somewhere i can use the serial number of the gun to find out exactally what model he has or what it may be worth??

thanks in advance

Photos and serial number would help. Check out some of the auctions for a gun similar to yours

I have also included some of the dealers that show nice pictures and discriptions of their guns. Prices in the US are about the same as in Canada these days.

Remember condition means everything.

Pictures for one - clear, well lit overall as well as closeups of any markings, alterations, damages etc.

A review of bore, bluing, wood, internals, etc is also needed. Otherwise it's the equivalent to asking "I have a ford F-150 made in the 90s, what's it worth?"... not enough info, it could be a wreck, it could be perfect. Alterations to the gun will generally destroy collector value.
