Anyone know what would be the current value of an NRA fair WW1 U.S. infantry 1898 Springfield Armoury Krag here in Kanada ?

Depends also if it has been cut down, condition of bore (which NRA standards do not include).... and how much somebody actually wants one.

They are incredibly smooth in their action and there are very few of them in this country, so you might get a good surprise from the right person.

Good luck.

When I think "fair", I think "placeholder until I can afford a better example". Normally with a milsurp this also means potentially a crack near the mag well (common on a Krag), some finish issues, maybe surface pitting, and a dark bore. Stock probably sanded and/or varnished.

If this is in the ballpark for what you have, $200 is the high side. Yes, a mint one would be in the $800-1000 range IMHO.

It has an NRA GOOD to EXCELLENT bore, original stock finish with sharp deep stock stamps (never sanded), no cracks, normal stock dings, normal finish wear, so I would put it at above NRA fair.

I'll settle on $300 based on the responses.

Thanx all -
