Value of a m1 garand?

John Garand was Canadian. The rifles are a part of our history. Mine is an Italian built Breda that was Danish military issue. In my opinion it was still designed by a Canadian engineer and therefore fits just as well in my collection as an American issued piece. I love mine.

Been sitting for a few years in a damp area, rust in spots, bad pitting, mix-master post war refurb, stock is heavily sanded / varnished and metal on the front hand guard is
rusty, the lower band is as well. If the bore it toast it would take atleast anther $1000 to make it nice only after finding the correct parts to un-mix it (WRA and even IHC parts
are kind of not as common)

$800 tops,

Um yea, the last time I saw a $800 Garand was Three years ago, and I bought it. No matter what your opinion is, they are all selling for more then that now. You'd be lucky to get an Italian made Garand for $800.

Think we overplay that angle a whole lot. For some reason, Canadians Love to credit anybody who spent a night here and went on to do great things, as a Canadian. . Garand left Canada as a young child, by that definition I would be a German ;) Doesn't detract from his genius though.
