Value of a marlin guide gun

I don't know that's true in this case. Marlin had some real quality problem before being taken over by Remington. The current crop of guns gain far better feedback than the old ones. Worth noting, going back 20 years, I don't know if the same quality issues existed.

I agree, I've had a few Marlins both JM and Remington models and my Remington made GG functioned flawlessly where my JM model had feeding issues quite often even after being to the smith.
