Value of a NIB Leupold VX-1 3-9x40

My brother has had this sitting in a box for a couple of years now, never used. He doesn't use his guns and has no use for it, told me to "pay whatever" and it's mine. I don't really need it right now but I'm sure one day I'll have use of another 3-9, what would be a relatively fair (with family discount) price? I tried finding these online but there aren't many still being sold so I'm not sure. Thanks.

$250 would be a reasonable open market price. It's up to you to decide what a "family" discount would be.

Thanks guys. Money isn't really an issue for him so I believe $180 is good. Honestly, he couldn't care less, I'm sure if I said $100 he'd be fine as well. I just feel bad not being at least in the ball park fair. Thanks again1
