Value of a Old-refurb SVT *Edited*

I know someone offers me his so called ''unrefurbed'' svt-40 also dated 1943. Rifles meets all what Horilka mentioned above. Bulgarian refurbed with vertical serial stamp on the stock. If im not mistaken, Bulgarian refurbed are all 43 dated

I believe this to be an example of the Bulgarian refurbs that Horilka mentioned above.

I have 2x examples both dated 1943 - but the other examples have a semi-gloss shelac finish which I believe has been removed from your rifle (maybe the lighting doesn't pick it up).

I bet there is a good chance that the safety flag will swing to all three positions - but don't worry - if switched to the far side it will not fire full auto. The Bulgarian's added some post-war safety that made the safety ambidextrous.

Really nice 'early' refurb.

I think the only nicer examples would be an SA MM or a true western front captured rifle (captured off a German who captured one on the Eastern Front). I have seen a handfull of SA's here in Canada and prices go $300+ depending on who is selling and who is buying. In the US - these SA rifles sell for $1000 US +

I've only seen 1x captured rifle (truly matching and unrefurb'd) which sold at one of my favourite US stores for $1200+US within 1x week. Once imported that would be a $1600+ rifle when landed...

The example you have will sell for premium pricing to the right collector. I paid $350 and $400 for my examples and I have been offerred more for them from other collectors.

Truly matching SVT would have matching mag too :) There are couple out there, so it's not very correct to say "truly matching" about the rifle with mismatched magazine.
