I have a Savage 340 30-30 Bolt action that I am looking to sell but need to know it is worth. Rifle is in nice shape, no marks on wood stock & minor wear marks in blueing. Hoping that someone on here can lead me in the right direction for a price.

Working off of an iPad, cannot figure how to add pics, yet.

When I was working in sports shop couple years ago we sold one in fairly decent condition for about $300, didn't hang around long. That's probably pushing top dollar. Maybe a tad more for yours if as nice as you say.

$300 should be a reasonable price if in the condition you mention. Keep in mind a used mag for it averages about $80. Don't lose yours!!!

Personally I think 300 is high, is suspect ones for 300 have a scope mount and probably a scope or they are sitting around for quite a while before they sell.

Picked one up a few years ago at a HACS Gun Show for $275. It included a mounted scope on flip off mounts so I can use the irons when needed, overall very good condition.
As noted, spare mags are hard to come by, new ones are available through Brownells but they won't ship them to Canada. Have picked up a used mag on CGN for @ $35 and a brand new one for @ $50 on here. Sold the used one for what I paid for it.

I have seen, bought and sold a few over the past few years and $300 is generally what they go for. If you're drilled and tapped and have the side scope mount, or something extra, or an abnormally nice stock, etc, you might get up to $400.

I find it odd that people pay $300+ for them.
They were introduced as a cheaper alternative to the lever action 30-30. But in today's market, where you can get a shooter grade lever for the same price, they just don't make sense. I'm not saying they aren't capable of taking game, but there are much better bolt action options in the $300-$400 range.
