Doing this for my friend, his LE is in exellent shape & had a trigger job done to it by the previous owner. Comes w/original mag, standard flip up rear sight & was made in the U.S. in 1943 I think...

How's the headspace? Matching numbers is no guarantee that the headspace is ok. Full military configuration or bubba'd?

this is one of those dumb questions that i have to ask LOL
what does it mean when you guys refer to a .303 being "bubba'd, I'm curious hehe

Shorten the barrel with a hacksaw, remove all the handguards and put the stock fore end on the table saw. A little bit of fancy carving on the stock, maybe bolt an angle iron bracket onto the side for a scope mount. Add a recoil pad that was lying around and screw in some sling swivels and you're ready to go!

You know, standard professional gunsmithing techniques!

Generally, take a perfectly decent firearm, preferably with some collector value, chop it up and customize it, so that it is worth less than before it was touched.

Savage made mostly 2 groove barrels, but also 5 and 6 groove barrels which will increase the value. Add an S marked Mark 1 rear sight, Long butt, S or circled S, factory stamped butt and forestock, tight headspaceing on #0 or 1 bolthead and vgood to excellent rifleing to what you already described and it will sell between 300 and 400 dollars. A good trigger job on trigger ribs and at sear bent will increase the value.
