Value of a Valmet M78.

Sold a stamped last year in 308 for $2500. Nice rifle then paid $4500 for a super mint milled. To me, that's top dollar. Unless it is a 7.62-39 seen them sell for $7000. 4G's is about right with mags. Enjoy your new toy.

I have a factory 1 inch scope mount for M-77/88 if u need one. Had one for years in the 80's. Excellent shooter.

Yeah I seen a few on EE around the $3500-$4000 but I never saw their condition. The guy Im dealing withis asking $6000. It comes with a VZ58 stock and grip, along with the factory stock, mak90 mount, tapco hammer, 4 magazines, and 500 rounds. It seems high to be.
I'd pay around 2-2500 max, seen a couple 308 Valmet hunters with scope mounts and mags sell on here around that range via a dealer not to long ago.

If it was a 7.62x39 then he might be able to justify his ask

So its a 7.62x51 not the 39. Its in mint condition. Untill I fired 60 rounds You would never know it was fired, maybe by looking down the barrel, but thats it. It came with a Mak90 saddle scope mount that removes the cross pins on the trigger group, and replaces them with bolts that holds the saddle mount. So no drilling and tapping of the receiver. Its a very nice rifle to shoot. The Galil mags that came with it do not fit into the mag well. I listed them on EE, but I might attempt to modify them so they will. I was reading some posts on a Valmet forum and some people have done mods to nake them work. So we shall see. All in all I'm happy with it.

Mags that work are the biggest issuse with these. Add about $250 for each good (original valmet) mag that the gun comes with.

non-factory converted Gail mags are nearly scrap metal. Worthless in the price of buying a Valmet.

It's an RPK. Cool factor is way high. Should be a really good shooter, heavy barrel and the rifle is built in Finland. Accurized AK. 168 SMK are no problem for this rifle, and it has a milled, forged receiver. This is not Comm Block crap, very fine rifle. Rifle will kick less than the 91.
