Got a friend who's asking about the value of his Walther model 4.
It's in VG condition, with original shoulder holster, and purportedly was in service in the German police in WW2. Any ideas on its value?

Prohibited or restricted?

MetalEd,

Walther's Model 4 in 7.65mm were produced 1910-1928. It is an interesting pistol as the ejection port is on the LEFT side. Similar in size to a PP model. Prohibited due to the 3 1/2 in bbl & 32 caliber. Not often seen but not much collector interest here in Canada. Market value $150-250

Model 4s were used during the Weimar Era by some police forces in Germany. Very few are recorded with police property markings. It wasnt a popular pistol due to it's design & reliability....No data exists on Reich Police using them in WWII.......

Walther P4 is a different story.....Shortened barrel P38 type pistol with alloy frame produced mid 70s. Restricted. Not a common piece but could fetch values in the $500 for an upper grade one.....

Hope this helps a bit,
