Times sure have changed.
Russian SKS's are going for $1K in the cosmoline from the surplus dealers now, and with so many other semi's being banned, they're probably not having trouble selling them.
"When I was a young lad," back in the 80's, a friend of my uncle's had a storage dugout under his hay shed. Stuffed full of various rifles. Nothing too prepper-ish, no AK's or AR's or anything like that, just solid good working man's rifles and shotguns, mostly bolt guns and pump shotguns, with a few semi-autos here and there. When I asked him "what's the point?" He just shrugged and said "The worse things get, the more they're worth."
Well, lads, times are hard, and getting worse.
