Looking for information on a seemingly rare piece of metal known as the 'Bernardelli Gardone Val Trompia O/U 12ga'

Have asked around at a few dealers but I've yet to find one that has experience with the brand.

My google foo from 7 years ago with this very mature brand is still lacking.
They have been around since the 1600's and went by the way side in 2017.
Again, after surfing the web I found they went by the way side in 2017 for one reason or another.
I was looking at a Bernardelli sxs for sub $1000.00 and when I decided to splurge ...there it was gone.
From pictures on the web they look pretty and well adorned with engraving.
Thats all that I can tell you, but I am sure guys like Ashcroft and a few others will chime in with more history than I have mentioned.
Got a pic of the one you are interested in?
Rob

Contractor friend has one with a broken and now missing ejector. Getting it repaired has been impossible so far. Will likely require a custom part made by a competent gunsmith. No clue as to value. You can try some of the larger gun stores in the US. Houston has a few big ones.

Cheers

Bernardelli made excellent shotguns in their day. Their various models were priced comparable to similar Beretta models although they mostly used different designs. They can be great value on the used market today.

Agreed
Let me know if you ever see a Roma 6 28ga in Canada

I’ve owned Roma 6’s in 20, 16 and 12 gauges, never seen or heard of one in 28 in this country. If you BADLY want one in 28 you should probably be looking in the US.

I bought a Roma 6 28ga from Giovanni gun shop over 20 years ago.
My son has it now, he sort of took it on long term loan.
I should have also bought the Sandro Lucchini 12ga

grouse and woodcock hunt long ago.

So is the general consensus that these are high end shotguns and worth a significant amount of money given their rarity?

I guess high end significant amount of money is relative.
And depends on which model.
They not so rare in US.
Good quality. And I think sell for less than they are worth.

And 5 of them on #######

May be an old catalogue:

I did a little more research and it looks like it might be the Vincenzo Bernardelli Model 115 (over under) for sporting purposes. It has a fibre optic sight, and jewelled barrel. Was really hoping someone here would have some info, I find it really odd that it's so difficult to find information online about this brand given it seems they have a good reputation.

I know that the V Bernadelli hammer guns have sort of cult following especially down in the States and always go for big money but here in Canada things can be different.I paid $ 900 for my Italia hammer gun in basically unused condition , the owner wanting something less pretty to drag through thick brush after rabbits. The gun came up for sale right after Christmas and wasn t selling probably do to lack of funds because of the timing of the sale when a lot of peoples funds were spent on the holidays. The owner had traded a 22 rifle for it and wanted something more suitable. When I saw the gun I couldn’t get my wallet out fast enough, gave him what he wanted and scooped it up.You just don t find the hammer gun versions too often in Canada but they do exist and normally the people that have them keep them.

Popular over seas too (England). Value seems similar ro Beretta and as mentioned depends on the model.
It's an odd situation here. The gun seems like it was made for general use perhaps in the category of a Benelli 828 et al but, parts are 'unobtanium' making a valuation difficult.
