Value of Colt 1911 A-1

Hello to all, altough I have been a member of CGN for many years, this is my first post. Several years ago I bought a 1911 A-1 pistol.Markings on the right side of the frame are United States Property. M1911A1 U.S.ARMY. No8941XX. On the left side there is G.H.D stamped under the slide release, the letter P under the mag release.
There is also a letter R and a triangle on trigger guard. The slide has patent dates , the colt symbol and is also stamped COLT SPT F A MFG.CO.
HARTFORD CT USA. The barrel serial no does not match slide, the barrel near ejection port is marked 45 auto 770119X. The barrel is also marked with the letters P and M on left side of the barrel lug and with the letter C in a square on the right side of the barrel lug.

Sights seem to be original, grips and clip are not. There are two stampings on the front trigger guard I cannot identify. I am trying to obtain as much information possible about this pistol. An approximate value would also be appreciated. Overall conditon i would put above 80%.

Thank you.

I tried to post pictures without succes.

USGI Colt 1911A1

Detailed pics will confirm whether your USGI 1911A1 is orginal/correct etc. That will then determine it's value.

Check under the firing pin stop on the slide to see if the frame serial number is there. This will determine if your slide & frame match.

Your frame is Colt mfg in 1943 by serial number and G.H.D. inspector's initials.

One of the markings on the trigger guard bow is likely the Colt 'verified proof'. It will look like a small VP in a tiny triangle.

Post war replacement barrels have been noted with numbers similar as to you describe on the barrel hoods at the ejection port.
