Value of FN 308 "lithgow L1A1

I've stated this before: I believe there is a case to be made in the Supreme Court that the entire prohibited class legislation is unconstitutional.
It is evil in two ways. It puts financial penalty on existing owners who have done nothing wrong; and it is systemic discrimination based on age.

Class. Action. Suit.

If anyone can get it rolling - it would have to be a younger RPAL holder who missed the cut-off date - I'll happily kick in the first $50 for the legal fund.

Come on all you 12.x holders! Help the youngsters buy our stuff.

Excellent idea !!
Be great if someone actually did launch a challenge to rid us of this 12X bullscat we've had to endure!
Darn Good investment IMO .

The l1al rifles were the original six packs. They even came in their own crate with cleaning kit and bayonet.
Still have two crates as storage boxes. The guns came from Singapore police and are marked

Australian Lithgow made L1A1's serial numbers always started with the prefix letters AD (Australian Defence) before the numbers in 4 places, on the right side of the rifle and the bolt.

One was on the bolt and another on the bolt slide, one on the lower assembly just in front of the butt stock behind the pistol grip and one under the ejection port on the upper.

UE prefixed serial # as mentioned is from a British L1A1, British ones also had the serial number on the left side of the rifle but the Aussie ones never did.

And the 2 digits after the AD prefix denote year of manufacture at Lithgow.

Here are some pictures that show how a Australian L1A1 was marked

This is an excellent point--and one that I raised with NFA and CSSA (years ago) which has gone no where. Does anyone know if they ever seriously considered this sort of legal action? Why did it not go forward? I'm not talking about class action suit, but of having sections of c68 declared unconstitutional via going up to the supreme court?.

As an ex-military user of the FAL I say poo on you all who have one. I would love one but am not allowed, no prohib licence. $300 makes me cry. And yes in my view they are the best semi auto battle rifle ever made. Reliable accurate, durable, hard hitting. Heavy but that is an advantage when shooting 7.62. How could you think of getting rid of it? Mutter, mutter, curse, swear. Stupid thing is I own an SVT40 which is a similar rifle if not as well built as the FAL, unrestricted. Damn I hate Canadian gun laws. Make no damn sense at all.
