Hoping to get an idea of the appropriate value of my John Inglis HP. It carries 2T5### all matching serial numbers, comes with 2 original JI mags and 2 newer mags, original grips and very nice wood after market grips. Minor wear on slide and controls. Front blade has been replaced by red fiber optic blade.
Any help would be appreciated.

It is also missing the lanyard ring.

Search the forums for other questions about BHPs. I think a serviceable Inglis will average $1000 to $1200. The JI mags are worth $125 ea (if I recall the going rate). In this example, the discounted price has to calculate finding a front sight (which I've never seen in the wild), and the lanyard ring. Maybe $800-$900, not including all the mags.

They are hard to find. The aftermarket front site is a problem. If it had the original front site I would say $1500 ish.
I have a mint model and I would not consider selling it less than $2k

Thanks for your your help maple_leaf_eh and CdnCombatMedic !! I'm a bit surprised the mags are valued so high but I guess it makes sense since they are originals.

I am surprised JI mags are that expensive. I have about a dozen JI mags and few after market mags for my BHps

the lack of the lanyard ring will hurt the value of that pistol, but Inglis BHps have certainly increased in value over the last few years. I bought mine for $750 and it is near mint condition, and retains about 1/2 of the original lend lease sticker. My FN Hp with German army acceptance marks is not in as good condition.

The mag isn't especially valuable; it is the John Inglis marking that makes it valuable. Generally with any milsurp, the more provenance or the better the markings tell a piece's story, the more desireable it is. Consider the difference between de-Nazified Russian Capture Mauser 98s versus the same rifle with the dirty birds and crooked crosses intact.
