Value of Inglis HP

It is a Inglis HP No.2 Mk.1* SN#2T40XX. It is parkerized with black plastic grips (one was replaced before I owned it) and a lanyard ring, with hump rear sight. It's in good shape, with the normal wear and tear, barrel looks great, I rarely use it anymore, like to know approx value.

Does it have the Canadian Maple leaf on the grip. It is refinished? Post a few pics! If I rememebr correctly, you have March production as my unissued is February.

I have only seen ONE Hi Power with the maple leaf decal, Fellow brought it into the local gun store and took it out of the ORIGINAL box!
Just an add, have three, one of each variation.
 
I doesn't have the maple leaf on the front of the grip, it looks identical to yours except mine does not have my SN# on the barrel. I will try to post pics later.

No serial on the barrel means the barrel has been replaced. That hurts the value a touch.

If everything else about the gun is OK. you are likely in the $500-$650 range on a well used Inglis. Maybe $750 on a really good day.

The Inglis are known to loosen their barrel cams. That is the round bit that shows a little different color above the trigger and just below the slide. With the slide off, try and wiggle the cam inside the frame with a pair of needle nose pliers. Watch for movement on the outside....usually when they are loose you will notice some oil coming out between the cam and the frame on the outside. If your gun has this problem, start looking at the lower end of my evaluation.

Everything seems to function great, never had a problem before. Would it still be desirable in it's current state? I don't see them in the EE, is there a website that I can find some comparisons for price.
 
My Inglis is 2T19XX which Inglis Diamond puts at an October 1944 manufacture. Your pistol can't be too far away, likely November 1944.

Too bad about the barrel, but a nice looking gun all the same.
 
It looks like it was refurbished as the proof marks are covered and the slide serial nuimber is also partialy covered.

Technically there are @5 manufactured varients and 1 "constructed" varient?
No1MkI ~ Tangent sight, early round barrel cam, low ejector, early extractor & hammer
No2/1MkI (my own terminology)~ Early fixed sight slide on slotted No1 frame, early round barrel cam, low ejector, early extractor & hammer
No2MkI ~ as above with no slot in frame
No1Mk1* ~ Tangent sight, rectangle barrel cam, high ejector, later internal extractor & Mk II hammer
No2Mk1* ~ Fixed sight, rectangle barrel cam, high ejector, later internal extractor & Mk II hammer
No1 upgraded to No2 status ~ a new No2 slide put onto a No1 slotted frame, or a No1 slide modified to No2 status by milling the tangent sight off and pinning (British method) or silver soldering (Canadian method) the No2 rear sight block to the slide.

Actually, all markings on Inglis pistols, except the serial numbers, were applied before the parts were parkerized, so there is nothing wrong with the "proof marks" being covered by the finish. Also, as near as I can make out it looks like the slide serial number is entirely "in the white" (i.e. engraved through the finish ..... I suspect it is just the lighting in the photo which makes it appear that the slide serial number is partially filled in.)

Bradley, can you confirm whether the serial numbers on both the slide and frame are "in the white" (i.e. engraved right through the parkerized finish into raw steel, and not filled in at all by the finish?)
