Have an early eighties Mossberg 500A 12 Guage (2-3/4-3") with 30" non-vented rib barrel with a removable imp-mod choke. The gun has been hunted with but the blueing is still good and there is no rust...just the regular hunting marks but nothing serious. I went to my local gun shop as I was interested in trading it towards the purchase of a boys 22 rifle and they offered me $70. What do you think would be an approximate value? I am thinking of putting it up for trade on the E/E looking for either a Savage Cub or a Henry Mini-bolt. Am I being too optimistic?

Selling it on the EE for $70 will have it gone in less than a minute. The store probably knows that they can sell it in the $150 range very easily, but using it as trade goods on a Cub or Mini-bolt, they need to be able to still get the full value from that trade/sale.
Same thing when you trade in a used vehicle on another. Value goes up or down depending on which one you're buying.
