Hi, I just picked up a Belgian Browning .22 semi on a whim and now I am hoping I got a good deal on it? Paid $450, six serial numbers don't match any format on Browning's site so I am guessing it is a 1914 - 1955 manufacture. Has the eye-hole on the pistol grip and barrel is labelled "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE S.A. HERSTAL -BELGIQUE" and "BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE".

Condition is very good. Forearm is very slender, not bulky like the newer style rifles. Did I do okay?

Trying to upload pictures, apparently it has spent the last 25 years out in a guy's cabin. I thought the price seemed about right but I was worried that maybe I paid too much.

That hole ontop is where you can drop ammo into.

It is meant to load through the grip.
It's definitely an early version. How is the wood and blueing? I bought mine for a hundred bucks, but it does not look as nice as yours. It is an amazing shooter and incredibly accurate. I wouldn't trade it for any other .22 auto.

Very nice about the same condition as mine I'd say. Does the "22 LONG RIFLE SMOKELESS" help narrow down the age at all? I'm guessing that by 1930 people just assumed that new rifles were going to use smokeless powder?

One thing about these tiny gals, they have their own sound.
Enjoyable to listen to when pulling the trigger.
As typical with all Browning semi's.............................................
