Not the RC reworks. The all matching, excellent condition batch that came into the country in the 80s. Just curious....

Yes I remember the mint ones with all the matching accessories, but there were also VG-Ex ones. Both F series with flat buttplate and G series with cupped. Used to see them here from time to time.
 
The ones in very good condition(not mint) seem to be priced around $1200 to $1500 on the EE and seem to sell. Don't know how much haggling goes on before the sale though.

They are out there, all matching port k98 mausers. I own one, had it for sale on EE with lots of pics to prove it. Matching bayo and original sling as well. It has some condition issues though, pitting here and there , it wasn't worth it for me to sell for what I was getting offered. Nice pieces of history.
 
They are the only common Mauser nazi Mauser in canada. Just a nice matching rifle? $1200-1700 would be my guess. Mint with sling and matching mint bayo, price goes up.
 
I was trying to talk an older gentleman I know out of one he had, either the full milsup version or one somebody had sporterized with a synth stock and scope added.

Damn if he refused and a month later lost them and all his other guns in a break in.

He was a part-time 'smith and someone had been watching him and broke in when he wasn't home. He figured it was somebody who'd followed him from a gun show.

Sad really, broke his heart.
 
I think we all know that if that particular rifle hit the EE it would sell for quite a bit more than desporterizer's quoted range. Provided it's matching (and unmolested) w/o the bayonet I'd estimate a more realistic value to be closer to the $1500 mark.

Agreed. any matching numbers K98k in undicked with original condition is going to be $1500. a german one would be worth more, but thats a fair price for a port.

The one pictured is used but not sanded, so if all matching definitely more then 1000

You might think so, until you tried to sell it. I have an all matching 1937 contract Port k98 that I bought from a member here for $800 with the bayo & it sat on the ee for almost a month.

4b1t, has the rifle been proof marked post war?
 
37 aren't near as desirable. They aren't a "K98K". The reason the 41 contract holds any value as a contract rifle is because they are a carbon copy of a 41 Mauser oberndorf Wehrmacht rifle.

If you can ever buy a 41 for $800 I'd be surprised.
