Hey folks, I'm finally realizing that my restricted Makarov parts-gun is now extraneous since I have a nice HK P7 now for a small-as-they-can-get retricted pistola.

In 2003 I saw that Ontario Gun was selling a barreled Makarov frame, so they reregistered it and sold it me as a restricted frame with a spot-welded-into-place 5" .22 barrel stub (that's another story.. PM me). I sourced a plum-coloured Bulgarian parts kit, a Federal ported/extended barrel, a slide, and a Pearce rubber grip and built myself a restricted Makarov! After mutilating (cutting the catch to lower the seated height) 4 stock mags, I gave up on making the thing trying to shoot properly. It just does not want to strip rounds off the mag properly, and I'm a crappy gunsmith, definitely in the WECSOG category.

The package includes 19 full 50rd boxes of MFS 9x18 boxer-primed brass-cased reloadable FMJ ammo, dies to reload the same, an Eastern-Bloc IWB thumb-break holster, the 4 mutilated mags and the issued disassembly tool.
I spent a fair amount making a long-term "little gun" for myself, and now it's time to move on.

Some things to note:
1. I have never gotten this Makarov to cycle more than 1 or 2 rounds. There is some serious issue with the way it feeds or the angle of the mags or something. I could never figure out what it was, and mothballed it.
2. Ontario Gun "went ahead and took the barrel out" by cutting the frame with a Dremel to ease barrel removal (see pic). This could have been easily been done with the commercially-available press. Dlask did a great job repairing it with a TIG welder and Joe assured me it was better than new.
3. I did a terrible job trying to drive the barrel retention pin in and it's a bit mushroomed but functional.
4. The slide is a commercial slide and marked .380 but the barrel is a 9x18.

I don't want to lowball myself, but I didn't want to be one of those fools trying to sell a NIB Norinco M14 for $700 either.... I'm just looking for a decent starting price.
Thanks,
Duncan

If maximum sale value is the objective, it would be worth more as a de-registered, welded-up paperweight.

At least that way you can sell it to anyone, and no Authorizations are required.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure I could sell the ammo and dies for $250.

Wendell, there's no reason to weld it up. That pic is of what I got from Ontario Gun(fine gunsmithing.. look at the spotwelded .22 barrel:eek:). The frame has since been TIG welded back to original specs by Dlask, and functions fine when loaded manually. It's all there. I don't dewat.

Sorry thought I read 19 rounds of ammo. Yah, 19 boxes would make a difference.
