Whats a like new, lightly used (less than 20 rounds through it) T3x lite ss 308 c/w a Leupold VX-2 4-12x40 AO CDS worth these days?

One days use only at the range (3/4 inch groups @ 100 m)

I'm thinking 1600.00, is that in the ball park?

I see a lot of "lightly used" rifles listed for sale for the same price as new ones with the idea being that the buyer saves the taxes (but maybe pays the shipping?). I don't know how quickly they sell... You know what you paid for it I'm assuming, but a new T3x Lite SS in 308 retails for $1190 at Cabelas, and I googled that scope (which is now discontinued?) at $800.

At $1600 you're 20% cheaper than brand new and buyer saves the tax. That sounds reasonable to me. List it and see!

Yeah, I can see they sure devalue quickly!

And yet when you look at used in the stores they are like 100 buck within new LOL

Haha your looking at the ones with the prices that didn’t sell!!

I also always get a kick out of the prices when someone prices one high then you get a dozen people posting after figuring if the posters is worth that much they will cash in. Lol

Yeah, wish prices mostly by the looks of it...this one I paid something like 1099 for it and with tax comes to 1230.00 so even though its only got less than 20 rounds through it, less 20% for used comes to like 985.00 for the bare rifle.

bcsteve pretty much nailed it...think I'll shoot it a little more before dumping it or just give it to one of my Grandsons.

For newer guns 70-80 percent of market value before taxes depending on how high end it is and it will move, I usually add fifty for shipping

Every fall I see a wave of scoped .300 Win Mags with a few rounds through them up for sale as a package deal, usually with a "you save the tax!" line somewhere in the description - they rarely sell at that price. The ones that stick around are the ones that won't negotiate on price, usually.

You are almost always better off selling the scope separate (especially a Leupold as they retain value well) from the rifle, but include rings and bases with the rifle along with the "save on taxes" bit. If you include free shipping, that's probably a couple hundred in total value (retail taxes, rings/bases, and shipping) and you might sell quick in that case.
