Hi Folks: I have a friend looking to sell a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum Model 686 with a 6" blued barrel with rubber pac mar grips in very good condition. Does anyone have an idea of its value. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Doug

Hello

It also depends on how old.
How many rounds?
Esthetics and condition of it?
Need a bit more info..

New today...about $1000

can really say....without more detail......my guess....$400-$500

Was it a blued barrel on a stainless frame from the factory or has it been re-barreled? Would affect the value some depending on the overall condition.

If the only barrel is blued and rest of it is stainless it means the barrel has been replaced which to me drops the value way down. Unless it can be proved that it was a factory job I'm thinking maybe $400...maybe less. Personally, I wouldn't touch it at any price...and I like L framed Smiths. If it's a blued 586 then $500-$600 is reasonable

Not sure on a value but I sold this S&W Model 15 with a 6" Model 686 barrel with adjustable front site for ~ $300'ish awhile back. Good shooter but durned ugly...
