Hello,

I have a 1943 Australian Bayonet I'm looking to sell, it has a 1943 Mangrovite Scabbard. What do they go for together? Picture:

Look at the grips: lot of wear on that baby.
Is that grease or rust all over the blade?

I would value it a bit less than louthepou would..... but then everybody knows I'm cheap.

It's actually patina-like. Not rust, I've lightly brushed it with 0000 Steel Wool and nothing came off. It's smooth to the touch. The blade is also overall a light yellow hue near the crossguard, rather than being silverish. The scabbard is well marked, very clearly, "Mangrovite '43". I'd probably sell it for $75.00

Drach, $75 for that set up is very fair. It's all of the same origin, rather than a mix master set. There are plenty of those around as well. The set isn't rare by any means but because both the scabbard and bayonet are of aussie origin, I would add $25 to the value of the bayonet which in this case would be $50 - $60. Your sell price is right in the ballpark.

They don't advertise them as slazenger marked, but the two sets I bought are marked as such. Used one set on a bayonet given to me minus the grips.
In any case they are new in the wrap.
