A friend has a Westley Richards drop lock for sale but I have no idea what something like this is worth.
Hoping to get pictures later this week.
It has no engraving, only gold lettered Westley Richards in the sides.
It appears to have been restocked or refinished but well done.
According to serial numbers it was manufactured pre 1910 and is 2 3/4" so I'm assuming it's out of proof.

Any help would be appreciated.

Westley Richards Drop Lock. Doesn't get much better than that. Hope to see some pic's soon.

If the gun is in anywhere near reasonable condition and chambers and wall thicknesses are sound you can start at 5 figures and go up from there. Also, it may not be out of proof with 2-3/4" chambers. They made guns in that chamber length in 1910 and they could be original.

Definitely post pics if only for admiring purposes.

True, very likely north of that five figures depending on condition. Personally speaking of course, I never particularly favored the single trigger concept on some of their shotgun models?

Be careful G. Lots of Westleys for under 10 grand if you know where to look, and an out of proof and restocked "Gold Name" model may not even be worth half that..... even if it's a droplock.

All Best
