Value of win 1873

I am looking at a winchester model 1873 serial # 205### in 44/40 in NRA good shape.
What would be it's fair value.

My 9th edition of Flaydermans puts it at 875 us which is 1050$ or more cdn these days. My 2007 Gun Digest Red book puts it at 2000..........big difference......wTc

I can give you some practical advise. I recently sold one which was complete and unaltered.....but had no finish left, no rifling left, a rusted out bore and a cracked tang... a third model octagonal barrel in 44-40. I thought it was a parts rifle myself. A buyer paid $1,000.00 for it. I was amazed....so don't underestimate the value of yours. Dave

For an all original '73 that has no finish left, but all the pieces still there and working, you'd be very fortunate to find one at less than $1,000. I would expect you'd pay at least $1,200 and usually more.
