One of my buddies showed me his grandfathers winchester today. To my surprise its an 1886 in 33wcf (high cool factor) He asked me what its worth (no plans on selling, just curious.) I'd put it the condition at 80%. The bore is in fantastic shape and he does shoot it every deer season. Anyone know the value to a collector?

86's in .33 are a tough sell even on a good day, they just seem to be the ugly sister of the model 86 line. One dealer on here had one for $2700 and bumped a few times, then it disappeared. The standard offering of 24 inch round barrel, half mag and usually shotgun butt just doesn't fit into the earlier offerings, plus these were the last guns to be made and are usually found in better shape (bores not having been subjected to black powder). As far as value, without pictures it's pointless. $2500 might be optomistic and I have been accused of being high in the past.
