Hi everyone. I came across this rifle out of an estate.
Can you give me some input on the value of this rifle.
Its built in 1898. The caliber is 30-40 Krag.
The bore is dark but has strong rifling.
The blueing is about 50%. The stock has a few nicks and dings. The action is smooth.
Regards,
WW

Although worn and what I think has little collectable value, there are lots out there looking for something like this. I think it would realize around $700. I sold a 303 (newer and better shape) about 5-6 yrs ago for $500. The price has climbed since then. More will reply with more current values. If you are buying look for damage to bolt face. They aren’t ment for high pressure.

The 1895 Winchester is the only Winchester lever that doesn't drive collectors batty unless it has special order features or is a .405 caliber. Yours looks like a standard 28 inch barrel, blue worn and wood sanded. The Lyman 21 rear sight is probably worth $300(even though incomplete) to the right guy as it also fits the 1886 Winchester. I would think you would be doing well to get $800 for it and the sight would be a big selling feature.

More like $600 IMO the sight is worth as much as the remaining gun.No collector value but still serviceable parts.
