Vancouver area M14/M305 owners

Today was good fun! I hope you guys soaked up as much as you could in the time we had. Was a pleasure meetin you all and hangin out with our rifles and real good to see some familiar faces and catch up a bit.

Thanx a tonne for coming out, me and tony had a blast and we will be doing it again 2nd week of august ;)

Thomas and I are both crossing the country! ha ha ha

Two different perspectives. He is the real deal, I'm just a tweaker! :D You guys out in the West are lucky to have a reference material guy like 45acpking out there! Now we can truly spread the M14 love!

I hope you guys ask Thomas about his Salmon recipes! :)

And yup, TacticalTeacher, this is me, hungry reminding you to hold on to yer dicks!

Cheers,
Barney

How come you have the name change Barney ????
Enquiring minds need to know ... lol

Yuk yuk yuk
I have two accounts now. One is a business account. I have taken the advice of several respected instructors who teach these skills and drills for a living. I truly respect their input and decided I am silly not to make this a business formally ( can you say Revenue Canada?)

I am also stepping OUT of the high school classroom next June 2014 and retiring from teaching full time. It's a chance to leave my job for a young teacher scraping by on the supply teacher list. Some of these kids are former graduates and many of them grew up with my kids so its an honorable exit. The tactical teacher gig might turn a profit sometime in the future. Who knows? Either way I have much to be thankful for: CGN community, m14 addicts across the country. CQB lovers who need those intense matches outside Ontario, my partner of 30 years, hey it's all good.

And now I have my own forum in the business/ training section to play with.

Once I leave the classroom I can hold clinics on weekends across the country. And I get all the road trips I want. :). What's not to like?

Cheers
Barney

PS I am in BC for CQB and M14 fun :D

Congratulations Barney !
I think it is a smart move as well as good news for us in the shooting community :)
45ACPKING we would love to get you out here in Petawawa with Barney for a couple days ...

Very cool Barney, very cool.
You have a gift brother and it's good to see you livin the dream ;)

As for myself , taking my M14 gunsmithing clinic on the road for regular clinics is a real possibility.
Maybe time for me and the Tactical Teacher to have a powwow on the subject ;)
I simply love doing clinics and have Barney to thank for inspiring the idea. He is the true pioneer if the clinics afterall.

WHOA WHAT?!

Hungry's a full time m14 coach now? I was going to ask him if he'd tutor me so I could finish grade 11, but forget that, I want to double tap some zombie targets

ha ha ha not a full time M14 coach now. Still in the classroom and I got the grey hair to prove it. Too bad I cannot drink my troubles away.

Yeah, Thomas and I ... hey maybe in Squamish for 28 July... We might be able to pull this off! Let's do it!

Cheers,
Barney

I was possibly thinkin of droppin in on the squamish event just to say hi and hang out a bit. But if more than that is requested, ie: tools n gear, I can see if I can work it in.

Discussions on Three and possibly 4 clinics are taking place right now.

Port Alberni , end of July beginning of august but I have yet to approach the "hosts" for this event. One possibly 2 days depending on Range availlability.

A member of the Hope BC gun club has approached me as well so this could possibly work between Sept 1 and sept 15 .... I'll talk with the member

Abbotsford BC, a good possibilty but this idea is in infancy. Would have to happen before August 15 as well.

And Surrey BC , I'm thinkin 2 day clinic. 1st day the standard clinic, second day, more in depth subjects, trigger groups and stock bedding. Let's say in 3 weeks ;) p.m. Me for details

And post your thoughts below.... ;)

Hey guys, can everyone that came to the last surrey clinic please check their gear.
Divermike has misplaced a pinned 5/20 mag, the rivet has red or orange colouring on it. Also a small bag with bolt parts.
We scoured the shop and trash can after the event and did not find anything.
Would be nice to get these items back to mike if they turn up.

Next clinic, same location, JULY 6 and 7

You guys will have to grind Hungry/Tactical Teacher for a lowermainland clinic.
I won't be doing any clinics for the forseeable future. Damn near cut off my right hand index finger at the middle knuckle, severed a tendon..... Once I'm recovered in 8 to 10 weeks, it' hunting n fishin till spring, then off to the Balkans for a while ;)
Hungry's your man, and I know it's been a lonnngggg time since he did an Abby clinic.
