The fourth Victoria M14 Seminar will be held on Sunday, Oct 27th, 2013 at the 52nd annual Victoria 2 day gun show, Sat, Oct 26 & Sun, Oct 27.
LOCATION: Saanich Fairgrounds, 1528 Stelly's Crossroad
TIME: Sunday, Oct 27, facilities are open 9:00 AM till 3:00 pm. The M14 seminar will run from 10:00 till 3:00 PM. M14 seminar attendees are encouraged to show up early Sunday morning to take in the general gun show, stop by the table, get some one on one advice and generally ask questions.
COST: entrance to the gunshow, $5, M14 Seminar fees, $ 40
This hands on seminar will cover the basics of the M14: INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, AND MODIFICATIONS. We will have a receiver wrench, barrel vice, headspace gages, and other tools to share but this is a do it yourself course, so be prepared to do your own work, on your own M14. There should be plenty of time for everyone to do barrel changes, re-indexing, lapping in of GI bolts, scope mounting, and whatever other tweaks and tricks desired.
NOTE: This seminar is an independent event, and is not affiliated with VIACA [ Vancouver Island Arms Collectors Association ] or The Upgrade Path Inc.. This seminar will be facilitated by a former gunsmith, arguably, one of the most knowledgeable in Canada. Participants are expected to contribute to the ongoing dialog, sharing their experience [ or lack thereof ] with the M14 type rifles.
Bring your M14, or if you don’t have a 14 yet, bring yourself, your questions, any M14 tools or parts you do have, and anything M14 related you want to sell or trade. This is a gunshow …. there will be things to buy/sell/trade.
PLEASE NOTE: VIACA show SAFETY rules mandate that:
1.] NO AMMUNITION WHATSOEVER IS ALLOWED AT THE SEMINAR, NO live rounds, no dummy rounds, nothing at all that even looks like ammunition.
2.] All firearms handling will be done with the muzzle pointed in the designated safe direction.
ATTENDANCE: limited to eight, as that is about all we can fit comfortably.
Course material will be e-mailed to confirmed attendees. So as to not waste time on subjects covered by the course material, please read this material in advance.
Any questions, please PM, email info@m14.ca or call me as below. Thank-you.
