Did it to both my 18" (ported) and 14" (non-ported). Yes it's worth it for tactical shotgun.

All my research indicated that I should go for it and Casey is the man.
It does amazing things to tighten 00 buck groups. Amazing.
However, this technique cannot be applied to chromed barrels.. ie. like those installed on my Fabarm 14"

It reduces the pattern size of standard buck substantially.
It does not make that much of a difference for the newer reduced tactical loads or 8 pellet variants.
While the pattern of the reduced loads hold together for a longer distance - the reduced energy of individual pellets negates the ability to reach out and touch someone.
In short - if you shoot a lot of standard ammo - then it may be worth it.
If you shoot the occasional reduced tactical loads (8 & 9 pellets) - then it may not be worth it.
I had 2X 18" barrels subject to the full Vang Comp treatment - Still have one of them in my safe.
