Varberger, Lakelander, Kongsberg

Varberger also made benchrest / competition actions. Here's one I own, fitted with a Anschutz 5018 trigger.

I once owned this minimalist 30-06...it was stamped Varberger...made in Sweden.
I wish I had it back. I admire the way its the Varberger/Lakelander/Kongsberg concept reduced to a minimum.

Do you intend to build a rifle around it, or is it just a collectors item on its own?

Well, both ?!??!

Actually, I have a lot to do these days since I moved last year and I am not 100% set... I do have some match grade barrels on hand and can easily build a stock...
I still have to figure what type of bases / sights would fit on it as per the dovetail is offset to the left...

I have the same rifle, 30-06, marked lakelander w/ a rubber recoil pad, w/o wood bolt knob. Great trigger and a good shooter.

Rob that 30-06 looks waaaay ahead of its time.

Can someone describe or take pictures of their extractor?

I have to dig my safe to get to it but as far as I remember, they are of the Sako type.

Here's a view of the bolt with the extractor of a Finnish Lakelander (TAP-375)

Here's a pic of a Lakelander 389 bolt face - whether it's a Lakelander (TAP), Lakelander (Sweden), Kongsberg or Varberger (from 9 to 3 lugs), it's quite the same bolt face.
