Hey I was wondering if anyone has tried this combo (Im sure someone has) im curious at how it meters. I want to buy a automatic dispenser but this lee perfect powder measure is cheap and if it works i dont mind it for now.

Let me know your exp guys
Thanks

I've used one for 1000+ rounds with pretty consistent results. Honestly, you could probably do better, but only at MANY times the price…

For most (realistic) people, it will produce ammo that is more consistent than the shooter.

I use the Lee powder measure for IMR 4064, and RL22. I have used it for Varget also, but they are all extruded powders. It works very well as long as you disassemble it and clean it well. Then put it back together tight. Someone else I know had fitting issues with it and used lapping compound to make sure the rotating drum kept a good seal.

It's such a cheap measure that most people won't give it a chance... I used mine the first time because I didn't want to change the setting on my Lyman powder measure to load for a new calibre. I don't want to believe it, but the Lee throws more accurate and consistent charges. For the price of the Lyman I could own 4 or 5 Lee powder measures.

Now... don't talk to me about the safety scale... that belongs in the garbage. :)

yes i agree the safety scale is BALLS....ok im thinking of purchasing one real soon bcuz right now im using the lee dippers :( for 308 and 270win. TAKE FOREVER!

I use it for Varget and .308 with good success. I haven't tried it with .223 but I plan to. The Lee Perfect Powder Measure is a good value.

I use it for varget and imr4831. Both are great. I don't understand the numbers on the stick part but I just keep turning it till I get the charge weight I want and then leave it. I check every 10-20 rounds. Its always withing .2grain. To me that makes no difference in my shooting

For my .308 target loads I use the dipper to get up to just under the desired weight and dump it in my RCBS digital scale pan, then use thumb and forefinger to trickle up to the final weight. When it's exactly what I want, I dump the pan into the funnel over the case, place the now powdered case in the loading block, and on to the next round. That's really the only use I have for the dippers. I got talked into them when I first started reloading.

I've loaded 1000's of 223/303/308 with varget & the Lee powder measure. No problems. Biggest trick I found to getting it to throw VERY consistent loads is to get your technique down so it is also consistent and repeatable. Always within 0.2 grn. The technique I use simply because I found it works for me is when I lower the lever to drop the charge I tap the powder reservoir a few times lightly with my fingernail. I also pause slightly at the bottom of the downstroke. After charging the case I then raise the handle ready for the next round while I put the charged case in the loading block and get another case giving the charge dispenser time to fill nicely. Like I say, works for me & MUCH faster than the dippers! I used to use dippers when I used the little Lee loaders in the beginning but it was painfully slow. Like others have said. I usually verify every 20 rounds or so by actually weighing a charge. Can never be too careful!
Lee scales suck! Go digital!

i like my powder measures i use, i only took mine apart and took off the sharp edges around each hole and tapered them a bit and the throws kept more consistant even with the larger powders like shotgun.
