Prices are high because there is no supply. Some of the local shops in Vancity haven't seen Varget in 2 years. The price of regular gas is $2.20 right now. Diesel is $2.33. Prices in general for all things have gone up. Printing free money is catching up with us.

That’s true. The current 1lb comes from current stock around various distributors, the 8lb is brand new shipment from manufacturer. I suspect these will be reflected in the new shipment of 1lb bottles. Shipping alone has gone up, look at gas/diesel prices… it’s insane.

To complain that someone beat you to the punch doesn't sit well with me. There's no socialist supply chain ensuring everyone gets what they want - it goes to the first / highest bidder depending on who is selling.
It is still there online right now - I checked again. It has been available all day - as I happened to see it this morning as well. At $90/lb I am not interested - but perhaps others may be in need...
But if you're too busy to check - you miss out. Plain and simple.
