I have 2 leupold vari-x III scopes I am wondering if they are any good and ruffly what they are worth

First is a 6.5x20 second one is 3.5x10 both 40mm

Thanks

It depends a little...Is the 6.5-20x an EFR scope? Target turrets? Those would add some value.

I would say that you could expect to see $450-$550 for the 6.5-20x and $350-$450 for the 3.5-10x if they're both in very good shape. If they have ring marks or missing caps then the price would be lower.

Didn't even know they made a 3.5-10 x 40 EFR, but I do seem to remember a 3.5-10 x 50. The high end of BUMs estimate is likely fairly close, assuming you can find .22 and air rifle guys that appreciate this sort of thing. EFRs cost a little more but are harder to sell.

If they were newer VX3 scopes I'd have gone higher in price, but they're older and that 3.5-10x would be less desirable to most people due to the front paralax. Not sure it would be much fun to sell. I have a 6.5-20x just like that one and it lives on my Anschutz M54 silhouette rifle. It's a great scope and has served me well. Plus it makes a great loaner for load development.

I have both of these scopes. The 3.5-10x40 matte I bought new in 1997 for my Sako m75ss 300WM when I ordered it in. Still on the rifle today.......no issues, only time reset scope was when I switched to Accubonds in WS ammo in 2004 and just abit when I started to reload in 2005.

I bought the 6.5-20x40 AO matte with Fine-Duplex, off a fellow in BC about 6-7 years ago....payed $625 shipped. Never had a rifle for it for another 3. Sits ontop of my Sako m75ss 22-250.

I would say $300-400 is my estimate for your scopes now.

I bought a new VX3 4.5-14x40 with BC reticle from P & D Enterprises back in March for $450-475 (cant remember exact price but it was below $500) as it was Leupold clear out / demos days. This scope retailed for $770. My scope was new in box, never handles but the box was worn abit from being taken to gunshows....who cares...great price it was for me..now sits on my Sako m75ss 270WSM. I was looking at buying used off CGN but then this deal come up so I snagged it. I told a buddy and he picked up a VX2 6-18x40 for $400.
