Hey fellow gun nutz, I just made a profile and had a few questions. Ive never purchased rifles so I only know a little.
I want to start a "collector" series with a few trips to the range so theyre not just dust collectors.
that being said I would like some info on a few rifles, the goods, the bads, what to look out for, whats a good price, any tips etc.

The rifles I would like to purchase are

Mosin Nagant, there are so many varieties im not sure which one is the better option, theres so many sites the lowest ive seen is 189.99
K98- Ive done some research and would like a non russian capture- if possible
M1 carbine- I believe its from Auto Ordnance for around 980
Lee Enfield, Something war era, not looking for a sporterized version

Ive been on TRADEX for the m1 and mosin, not sure what good online options are around for the k98 and enfield

Any info on these series of rifles would be greatly appreciated,

thanks

Can't go wrong with Tradex. Check the EE for your Enfield and consider a Yugo refurb. K98. Some are all matching and all had new barrels installed post war.

Just a heads up, the EE is short for Equipment Exchange and is a separate forum here on canadiangunnutz. You'll need to apply to the forum moderators to gain access to it. It's where a lot of guns are sold used and you'll have a good chance of finding something you like there.

If you are thinking of a Mosin, avoid the rush to the lowest possible price if you are looking to shoot it. The cheapest dealers are going to ship you the guns that other people passed up in person. Uses hand select dealers like p&s militaria or weimarjack and get one selected for the nicest shooting bore. If you can get only one, get a nice one. I collect and have some shooters. For the collection, I almost don't care about the bore. I'm collecting years, markings and features.

Ps do not buy an AO m1 carbine if you are looking for a military collection. These are modern copies. Real ones are about the same price if you can wait for one. If you just want something to go bang, the AO is fine.

Thanks for all the help! I've been looking for a few hundred more the SA m1 garand- either purchasing or building from parts. I did some more looking around and decided not the AO m1 carbine as I want to try and keep it in the same era.
I will use that help with mosins thanks
