Varmint Grenade - experiences?

I use both the 6mm 65gr Vmax and the 62gr VG. I use the Vmax most of the time and only started using the grenade when I couldn't find the vmax. POI didn't change at 100 yards for me so that was great.

I don't really notice a difference outta my .243. I use whatever I can get my hands on.

...I was told a freind who reloads a lot that the VGs don't expand fast enough to cause the damage that Vmax's do.
I'll still make them up, but they'll probably get used on 'yotes instead of gophers like I originally planned.

That's just not true. They open up MORE than fast enough for gophers. They're a little light for coyotes IMO, at least the 36gr .224" version is...

I won't argue as I'm going on info from a good freind. I'll build up some hot loads and give 'em a whirl on gophers.
I'm sure you know the explosive results that you get from a Vmax...and I'm all about the *pink nuclear cloud* :D That the results I would want from a Varmint Grenade.

Taken with .32gr Vmax in .204 (hoping .223 36gr VG gives the same result)

I bought some of these while having a brain fart.:D

Loaded them in a 220 Swift.
At least all 5 shots hit the 8.5" x 11" target.;)

With the VG, you'll be lucky to find a piece that big! :D

All kidding aside, the performance that I've seen on gophers from the VG and as well as from the V-Max looks pretty indistinguishable to me. They both turn gophers into red mist and tufts of hair.
