Just to get all you gopher nukers primed up for next year... :evil:
I came across these on another gun forum and I have to say the clarity and resolution is AWESOME!!!!

If you do a search on youtube, you'll find some video clips where these stills have come from. I can't remember the name though, something like gopher olympics. Some of those were shot with a 50 cal!!!!
 
I don't want to hijack this guys pics but the clarity is out of this world.

He writes to say he is a proffesional photographer and he uses a digital reflex camera that costs around $8500. It shoots like a hispeed movie camera at about 800 frames per sec. The shooter hears the camera spooling up then fires..photographer then finds the best frames/pics from the 2 secs he films.

oh, by the way...all those shots were with .204 cals. (clue)

Try hornady 110grn v-max slugs in the 300wsm you will not be dissapointed. I loaded some in my 300 weatherby at 3900fps and shot some grounghogs this summer it litterally exploded them to the point that it was difficult to locate pieces that resembled any part of a hog. Groundhogs are about 4x the size of a sod poodle so they should just evaporate. My buddies couldn't believe the carnage that was left, next season I will take the camera for sure.

Just a side note but I couldn't resist... ;)
You're on the right track but there is no such thing as a digital reflex camera that shoots 800 fps. The fastest professional cameras used for action shots, sports, etc. can handle maximum 8-10 (Canon) 9-11 (Nikon) frames per second depending on image resolution. That's still awesome and will give you a variety of pictures to chose from.
You may have talked about the high speed film cameras which can be used to take pictures of flying bullets. However, they must be used with high speed strobe lights and are not practical for field use. Non of the digital cameras are capable of recording with such speed due to the fact that the buffer limits the number of shots to be taken. (It's like RAM memory in a computer. Once it's full the camera needs time to upload the images to the memory card and stops shooting.)

Sorry...you are right. He says 8 frames per sec. My mistake. Heres a snip of his description.

The camera used is not something that most people would likely have laying around - a Nikon D2Hs. This is a professional digital SLR made primarily for shooting sporting events where high frame captures are needed. It shoots 8 frames per second which is how I was able to capture sequences like the one shown (those are 3 consecutive frames which means that the elapsed real time is .375 seconds for all three). The shutter speed needed to capture the dogs in mid flight seemed to be about 1/800th of a second, but to capture frames like the second one you needed about 1/2000th of a second which is even a little slow as it didn't totally stop the explosion (although I think the slight blurring effect makes it even more dramatic).

I probably got the 800 from him saying the 1/800 of a sec shutter speed.
