Varmint/LR build Updated with final build sheet Pics Added

The Savage 9 twist barrels have no issue stabilizing the 75gr Amax or Berger VLD. They will not stabilize the 80gr Amax or Berger.

If you want to upgrade to a Shilen, only too happy to help.

Let me know.

trigger upgrade

Sounds like you have a real gem there buddy.

I have a Model 12 in .204 Ruger that I really like. Recently recieved a Shilen barrel through Jerry but will wait till later in the gopher season to install it and do some load development.

One thing you may want to consider is an aftermarket trigger. The Accutrigger is a really good "factory" trigger. This was the first rifle that I spent some time and effort on to try and do some accurate shooting and the Accutrigger helped at first, great off of a bipod. However I never got used to the AccuSear blade and I wanted a little lighter trigger pull when shooting from bags. Over the winter I installed a RifleBasix SAV-2 and I really enjoy it, its fully adjustable, not sure what I have it set at but I am estimating it to be just under 1lb and VERY crisp.

With that trigger, a bedding job and very detailed brass prep I have the factory tube shooting under 1/2 MOA, (a lot in the 0.3" range) so I am really pleased. Can hardly wait till I try the Shilen barrel.

Looking forward to your range report.

Very ###y looking rig you've got there. We definitely need a range report. I'd like to hear a little more on that scope also.
