I was wondering if anyone new of any places to shoot prairie dogs/ground squirrels or rockchucks in Manitoba? Would they be mostly in the Western part of the province? I am looking for public land or a farmer that wants to get rid of them. I don't even now if we have p-dogs in Manitoba, might need to go to Saskatchewan, but I've seen marmots/rockchucks a couple of times, once just past NE perimeter (of Winnipeg), once at my cabin (just N of Grand Beach) and once just NE of Pine Falls. I was wondering if anyone knew of any areas with alot of P-dogs or rockchucks so I could go out for a couple hours for varminting?

Thanks again.

Any prairie dogs we have in Canada are protected I believe.

Looked it up. Black tailed prairie dog is found only in Sask and is protected. We shoot Richardson's ground squirrels in AB, which look like mini-prairie dogs. I took about 600 off one quarter last spring:D .
