I started another recent thread on the subject of BLR and hunting optics choices.
Along those same lines I need to ask BLR owners (mostly in .22 centrefire/.243) how did you make out harvesting predators? Primarily coyotes but whatever you managed guys and gals.

Please feel free to share your stories with as much details as you desire.

Cheers......

The cartridges kill coyotes about the same regardless of rifle they leave. My neighbor has one in .22-250 and I believe it may be his only centerfire, coyotes, foxes, groundhogs, crows and deer die to it each year. It wears an old 2-7x scope and throws 3" groups at 100 yards but that first shot from a cold clean barrel hits where he points it out 400 yards that I have personally witnessed.

Buddy of mine used a BLR 22-250 for coyotes for many many years. He now uses a Tikka T3x Varmint but only because his hunting style has changed as he's gotten older, from carrying and moving from spot to spot to now just sitting and calling. He never had a bad thing to say about the BLR but found it didn't suit his current style of hunting.

I've witnessed many dead coyotes because of his BLR so I can say that it's up to the task.

I have used the 257 BLR for groundhogs years ago.
It worked very well with 87 grain soft points.
It also shot 75 gr. hollow points very well but never did get the opportunity to take one with them.

Mine has inadvertently shot way more varmint than big game, it's just with me when I see coyotes.

It's accurate enough with a fixed 6X , but I wouldn't use it on gopher shooting with that light barrel for multiple shots..

Mine is a 7 WSM with 150 SC II's, more accurate than me.

Nice shooting. I guess this is from 100 yards and a rest. Have you done anything with the fore end or front barrel band?

Nada , bone stock , I take it out with me to make sure it is sighted in each summer.Front rest , rear bag , resting on forestock.Yes 100 yards.

It is my current grab and go rifle, I have much confidence in this unit.

That's great news friend. I have one in 222 and soon I am going to mount optics.
I have not even shot it yet with its irons.
Cheers
