Varmit rifle under a $1000

looking for a varmit rifle under a $1000. must have a decent scope and a detachable magazine. Any suggestions thanks.

go with the savage edge package 243, or 223, or 22-250 from epps in black be about 400 ,350 without the scope or so good rifle cheap add a cheek piece and your good,

I just picked up a Rem 700 in a 22-250, love it. Already taken 6 dogs, got a cheap scope on it. Burris mount and rings, got 6.5X30X50 going on it in about a week. I like the gun, I was unsure initially that's why I put a Tasco scope on it initially, but the Burris will be here next week, can't wait.

This is what I got
TC Venture Preaditor

CALIBERS: .204 Rug, .223 Rem, .22-250 Rem, and I got it in .308 Win
Put on Nikon scope and rings for $200 after shipping from the ebay. Plus the rifle after taxes and shipping was a little $800. It double print's at a 100 meters and with the fluted barrel cool down time is realy short. Also the removeable single feed mag system is out standing. The Cyotiee's will never see ya coming

I would definitely consider the Savage Predator packages (model 10). Less than $1000 with a mounted scope with matching camo. The wife got me one in .204 for a wedding gift : )
Shooting sub MOA out of the box with factory loads.

The TC Venture is a excellent rifle for the $ Weatherby vanguard would be another good choice stay away from CHEAP Scopes! Redified good $value and Bushenell 3200 as well.

try a howa they make weathby and marlins.223 are cheap to shoot and win ammo at cantires are 28.99 a box of 40 at 3600 feet a second at 45 gr. buy a nikon buckmaster in 6x18x40 had mine for five years on 4 different guns, the guns come and go but I love that scope. had a savage in 22-250 that was really accurate but was cheap and ugly so was the rossi in 223 my rem in 220 swift was sweet and I never had a problem with my walker death trigger,right know it sits on a savage 17 hmr heavy barrel that will hit a ground hog in the eye 9 out 10 times at a hunded yard and can kill them out to 200 with head shots at just over 650 in vested and 15 dollars for 50 rounds

i too bought a model 10 predator but in a .223 and it shoots awesome as well. i can consecutively shoot SKS empties at fifty yards with a cheep 100 dollar scope. another thing i love about that rifle is the tight action and big bolt handle.

Anyone know of a source for spare mags for the venture. I need one in 223 and don't seem to be able to find one?

I picked up a couple of Tikka T3 lites this year in varmint calibres and they're awesome. I also have a T3 Varmint but that might be over the OP's budget.
